The Muslim Art Movement VIICampaign for The Western Muslim Initiative, 2019
The Muslim Art Movement is a curated art exhibit organized by The Western Muslim Initiative (WMI) where Muslim artists from Calgary (AB, Canada) and surrounding areas share their artistry with the larger community. As art is often an outlet for people to make sense of their personal and communal experiences, the WMI believes it to be important to highlight the significance that art holds in our lives.
The 2019 design was created by Habiba Elgendy, and focused on building a campaign inspired from traditional Islamic art and turning it into modernized islamic patters in a bold and unique color palette. The designs were created to reflect the essence of The Western Muslim Initiative along with its modern personality, while matching the fun artistic identity of its annual art movement show.
